Dr. Gräbe enjoys teaching and has a special interest in Distance Education. He studied extensively in Europe. He did research for his doctoral dissertation at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität, Münster, Germany under the guidance of the well known Pauline scholar, Prof. Dr. Karl Kertlege. His dissertation on "The Power of God in Paul's Letters" was published in the series "Wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen zum Neuen Testament" (Tübingen: Mohr Siebeck, 1989). Post-doctoral research was undertaken as a visiting scholar at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, Germany with Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Hahn and his successor, Prof. Dr. Alexander Wedderburn, as well as at the University of Cambridge, U.K., with Prof. Dr. Graham Stanton. This extensive post-doctoral research led to the publication of Der neue Bund in der frühchristlichen Literatur unter Berücksichtigung der alttestamentlich-jüdischen Voraussetzungen, Würzburg: Echter Verlag, 2001. (Forschung zur Bibel 96.) His research on the covenant theme continued and led to the publication of New Covenant, New Community. The Significance of Biblical and Patristic Covenant Theology for Current Understanding. Carlisle, UK: Paternoster Publishing, 2006.
His book Empowered: Kindle the Power of God in Your Life! (Dubuque: IA: Kendall Hunt Publishing) was published in 2024. The purpose of this book is to make his research on the power of God accessible to students and interested Bible readers.
The completed manuscript of his commentary on Second Corinthians in the Pentecostal Commentary Series (Leiden, Netherlands: Brill Publishing) is with the editor and is expected to appear in 2025.
Teaching
Dr. Gräbe views teaching as a high calling. He has a special interest in Distance Education and obtained the module in Distance
Education from the Diploma in Tertiary Education at the University of South Africa with distinction (1992). He also completed the Master Instruction Program at Regent University (2004) and
obtained Blackboard Certification from the Center for Teaching and Learning at Regent University in 2005. He also obtained the Online Instructional Design Certificate from the Center for
Teaching and Learning at Regent University, as well as the Certificate on College Teaching, offered by the Virginia Tidewater Consortium for Higher Education.
